My name is Danny and I spent over 17 years working in the roofing industry.
I created this site back in 2011 in response to an epidemic of cowboy roofers up and down the country who were charging thousands and sometimes tens of thousands of pounds to paint roofs with useless colourants, paints and sealants.
The tipping point was a leaflet put through my door claiming I could reduce my heating bills by 30% just by having my roof tiles painted red.
It took a few years for the authorities to take action but starting around 2013, several convictions were won and a few company directors were even jailed for their part in this scam. This seemed to have a knock-on effect and many of these scammers have now moved on.
Much has changed in the last 10 years and this site may not seem relevant now. Indeed, many of the newspaper articles and government pages I linked to back in 2011 no longer exist.
I will leave this site up and running but a few of the pages not function correctly and some of the external links may return a “not found” error.
